01The challenge
One approach doesn't fit every context.
The project meant working with different people and realities, each with its own needs and ways of operating. The challenge wasn't applying a predefined process — it was understanding how to make it useful and sustainable for the people involved.
Padrion is a European project involving nine partners from different countries, each bringing distinct needs, perspectives and ways of working. The challenge was to adapt a collaborative approach to this complex, multicultural context, helping partners align and collaborate towards shared goals.

02From method to practice
Adapting the process instead of forcing the process.
The team experimented with and adapted the Agile approach to the context, shaping it around the people involved and the way work actually happened.
Here is an example of how we created objectives and tasks based on a North Star: we’d started out with deliverables to produce, but we didn’t have a compass to guide us.
Thanks to the OKR workshop, we created a tool to guide everyone towards the end of the project – and beyond.

Understand
Understand the needs and the differences between the people involved.
Adapt
Change the process to respond to the real situation, instead of rigidly following a method.
Align
Create moments of comparison to build a shared understanding and move towards the objectives and goals.
03Outcome
A more context-aware way of working.
The project offered the chance to experiment and learn about adapting ways of working to real people and situations — listening, managing different perspectives and shaping the process so collaboration could actually work.
The result of all this was a collaboration that extended even beyond the project itself: the client placed their complete trust in us and allowed us to take the lead and steer the project in the direction we felt was right, as strategic designers.
Good processes don't ignore complexity. They help people work through it together.
